Glorify God

Think about this:
Yes, God is glorified in are healings. Yes, He is glorified in our deliverances.
But God is also glorified in our sufferings.
Does your life bring glory to God even when you suffer?
I think about Polycarp the bishop of Smyrna (look it up). The thing I remember most is what he said when they were going to burn him at the stake because he refused to worship the Roman Emperor.
Polycarp’s last words: “Eighty and six years have I served Christ, nor has He ever done me any harm. How, then, could I blaspheme my King who saved me? … I bless Thee for deigning me worthy of this day and this hour that I may be among Thy martyrs and drink the cup of my Lord Jesus.”
His stand and subsequent death bought glory to God then and it still does today.
How about Job, “Though He slay me yet will I trust Him”
These are the true Heroes of the faith.

Ask yourself this:
If somehow in this life you are stripped of everything. And all you have is your faith in Christ, will you still glorify God?

The MORE that the PRESSURES of this life SQUEEZE you. The more of what that is truly inside you comes out.

Lord, I don’t want to just be washed by you. I want to be filled with you. And when I am crushed the fragrance of You will permeate the atmosphere.

1 Peter 5:8-10 — Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
