God’s love. Or should I say, the love that comes from God. This love is not created in the human intellect or in the human spirit. This love radiates from God.
The best effort of man to tie a defining word to this love is Agape (Greek) or ahab (Hebrew). Both of these simply mean affection.
Agape also defines it as a “love feast”.
However, the love of God transcends any defining word, or words, we can associate with it. All our definitions fall short.
If we could explain it, we would counterfeit it. We would try to own it. We would try to control it or use it at our will. And sadly, in many ways, we have.
We can only participate in His love by allowing His love to flow in and through us.
1 John 4:7-11 KJV — Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (atonement) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
One response to “God’s Love”
AMEN!
